Softball Season

Elle just finished her 2nd season of Softball playing for the Jordan High School Lady Beetdiggers (yes, beetdiggers). 

Elle is a great hitter! 

 She played 3rd Base this season.

The Diggers beat Alta (their arch rival) earlier this week but failed to make the playoffs after a loss on Thursday.  Elle had a good season, but she hurt her knee and was out for the past several weeks.  She's looking forward to two more years of softball!

Last Wednesday night was a perfect night for softball. All of the girls are great softball players. I'm proud of each of them! Elle has really improved from last year to this year. She is still learning, but she listens to her coaches...and does EXACTLY what they tell her to do...even if they tell her to throw on a 4th ball.

It's that time of year....softball season. We are big softball/baseball players in our house, and for whatever reason, this year we've really been looking forward to it. Mariah made the Jordan VJ and Sophomore teams, and she has at least two games a week. Her dad is her biggest fan and goes to every single game he can make (which is almost all of them). Here are some pages that I made of Mariah's first game of the season. I don't want to brag too much, but she's a dang good softball player.

Summer Softball

Summertime brings many activities, but one that is prominent in our family is softball (for the girls) and baseball for Bradley. All of the girls are excellent ball players, but Elle has worked really hard to improve her skills. She's blessed to have great coaches and a great group of girls to play with.

She's been playing catcher, but she has versatility to play most positions.

We're proud of her for the progress she's made in softball!

Tis the season for more softball....

This time the star of the blog is Dominique. I admire moms and dads who volunteer to coach their kids and kids of people they don't know....all because they love the game. At Domi's level, it's all about participation and learning skills. Often times, the kids don't know the score or if they have even won. They are seeking for validation and praise from their parents, coaches and grandparents who come to watch the game.

The time for competition will come, but for now, I'm glad for the Sandy City Rec League and the good people who give their time and talents to help out some little girls who love to play softball.
